چکیده

In the next-generation of turbine engines, improving heat resistance and reducing weight are essential solutions to increasing thermal efficiency fuel consumption CO2 emissions. Silicon-based ceramics (e.g., SiCf/SiC matrix composites (CMCs) monolithic Si3N4) leading candidates for these applications because their extreme light superior compared current Ni-based alloys. The main challenge Si-based is oxidation volatilization silica in high-temperature combustion gas environment with water vapor thereby its rapid recession. most promising approach protecting surface ceramic from attack by an external environmental barrier coating (EBC) layer. Since early 1990s, a lot efforts have been made develop suitable EBCs; however, no single material can satisfy all EBC requirements. Thereby, trends directed development multilayered EBCs, different functions as significant solution prevent CMC recession maximize performance next engine generation. This paper discusses history, status, future not only world but also Japan. Furthermore, it introduces prospects fine particle spraying developments.

THE EFFECTS OF PLASMA SPRAY PARAMETERS ON THE MICROSTRUCTURE AND PHASE COMPOSITION OF THERMAL BARRIER COATINGS MADE BY SPPS PROCESS

In this paper the effect of plasma spray parameters, atomizing gas and substrate preheat temperature on microstructure and phase composition of YSZ coatings produced by SPPS process have been investigated. The experimental results showed that increasing the power of plasma, using hydrogen as the precursor atomizing gas and increasing substrate preheat temperature decrease the amount of non-pyro...

Plasma spray deposition of tri-layer environmental barrier coatings

n air plasma spray process has been used to deposit tri-layer environmental barrier coatings consisting of a silicon bond coat, a mullite interiffusion barrier, and a Yb2SiO5 top coat on SiC substrates. Solidified droplets in as-deposited Yb2SiO5 and mullite layers were discovered to be epleted in silicon. This led to the formation of an Yb2SiO5 + Yb2O3 two-phase top coat and 2:1 mullite (2Al2O...

Novel Thermal Barrier Coatings Produced by Axial Suspension Plasma Spray

Ceramic Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs) on superalloy components are being used successfully in land-based gas turbine and aircraft engines. These coatings are generally made by either air plasma spraying (APS) or electron beam physical vapour deposition (EB-PVD). In general, EB-PVD TBCs have superior durability due to the columnar structure, but they are very expensive compared to APS TBCs. EB...

The current status and future of theranostic Copper-64 radiopharmaceuticals

Copper-64 was produced in large scales and high specific activities in late 1990s’ using compact cyclotrons based by 64Ni(p,n)64Cu reaction and many radiopharmaceuticals developed since then by various groups based on interesting physicochemical and nuclear properties of the radionuclide. The unique emission of beta particles as well as positron particles offers a spectacu...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
